I originally signed up for the 50/50 but would like to upgrade. Do I cancel the original order and then re-order or what? I don't see a way to change it.

9:45AM December 11, 2018
Is there a list yet of supported\recommended modems if we wanted to provide our own? Also is static IP addresses an option? I work from home for a public safety company and it would be awesome if I could get my IP allowed though the states firewall but that would require a static IP address.
5:16PM December 10, 2018
Someone else asked this but I too would like to change my order now that there is new pricing but in my dashboard all I have is "review order" and "cancel order" I am not seeing any options to change my order. Review order doesn't give me any options to change anything.
8:40AM December 08, 2018
Originally Quailwood Run Lane was grouped with Phase 2. I see now our road has been grouped with Princes Lakes and is still in the gathering interest phase. Why was this changed? Our road is very eager for cable installation! Our area has zero access to any internet providers. Princes lakes has access to NewWave and Century Link and doubt they will reach the more than 1100 additional people needed to get started in that area. Please consider changing our road back to Phase 2?
10:19AM December 06, 2018
The map on the new Facebook page indicates that New Harmony Road is or has been wired, but Williams Road and Flake Road have not. Will the customers on those roads be wired at some later time?
11:56AM December 05, 2018
Mark Schapker Jr
I was curious if there was a projected date when home installs may start for phase 1?
2:32PM December 06, 2018
Hi Mark! Phase 1 connections are expected to start in January 2019.
3:20PM December 03, 2018
Are we able to change our Tier after we have registered? Further reflection indicates a higher mbps is required, but I have either forgotten how to access it, or the option is simply unavailable. Thanks!
2:31PM December 06, 2018
Hi Crystal. You will be able to change your package option at anytime. All you have to do is go into your 'My Dashboard' and update your order.
9:35AM November 30, 2018
I am noticing some big Beige metal boxes attached to some of the poles. Some are in peoples front yards. They are very ugly. Cant these be attached to poles near fields or poles away from homes?
7:21PM December 03, 2018
The other option I believe would be boxes mounted to the ground. I seen one of these today at the substation on Old Morgantown Rd Are those more pleasing to the eye maybe.
1:42AM December 03, 2018
Lol. You are good at your job "random SCI Fiber representative". You are very patient. It is much more expensive to purchase equipment that is more "pleasing to the eye". I wonder how long people would spend looking at these poles anyways? Most likely, they are strategically placed where they are, based on what best serves that section of the fiber run that is being serviced there. Putting all of that equipment somewhere else simply to give a better view of the sky is ... well, I will leave it there. We are getting high speed internet, literally the fastest available currently, and folks are concerned over how the poles look in their area? The poles are not a part of the front yard since they are in the easements :)
3:33PM November 30, 2018
Hi William. We are looking into other alternatives regarding the metal boxes that seem to create an eyesore.
4:49PM November 27, 2018
Seen a fiber splicing trailer at Mahalasville rd & Crammertown Loop this afternoon. 😀👍😀 real internet coming our way soon.
3:34PM November 26, 2018
Can you tell me what area my address is associated with, 4355 Tulip Dr S ? It's obviously a Martinsville address but we are 5 miles north of Martinsville off 67.
1:13PM November 30, 2018
Hi Chris. You address falls in the Stader area. You address will fall in Phase 3 or 4.
5:05PM November 17, 2018
With fiber being hung on poles will it be easy to repair after storm blows the tree limbs down in Brown County?
4:14PM November 20, 2018
We have contracted resources and staff to help with these issues as they arise.
10:19AM November 17, 2018
We've signed up for 50/50 Internet, but if TV will also be provided, should we be signing up for a higher (maybe much higher) level of service? With the internet service we currently have, 50/50 is a good fit for our needs. We subscribe to Directv for our TV.
4:11PM November 20, 2018
Hi Larry. Check out our updates tab, a graphic was just posted that will help determine the level of speed that will suit you. Check it out!
2:00PM November 14, 2018
Hello! What is zone "PARK AVE 101"? Thanks
3:45PM November 19, 2018
Exciting news Sydney! Wilbur Rd area has been moved up to Phase 1 construction. Check out the updates tab for more details!
2:36PM November 19, 2018
Hi Sydney. Park Ave 101 is the Wilbur Road Area
7:58PM November 13, 2018
Hello. I received an email saying I needed to schedule a “pre-drop assessment”. There wasn’t a link in the email nor do I see a place on your website to do this. Can you advise please? Thank you.
2:01PM November 16, 2018
I was wondering the same thing. At the office I was told to do it on the website but after updating my order there still wasn't an option to set up assessment so I checked comments and there was the answer. Maybe you can post something on the site and/or send out another email to clarify this for others.
3:05PM November 15, 2018
Hi Brian. Even if you are preregistered, make sure to update your order. Once it is updated, someone from the SCI Fiber team will contact you to set up your assessment.
1:39PM November 13, 2018
I appreciate the new pricing for the higher speed packages. Now it seems more reasonable to get the faster speeds. Thank you!
9:14AM November 13, 2018
Hello, I am part of Phase 1, and am very excited about the prospect of "real" internet connectivity after nearly 20 years of garbage! My question is this - your crews have strung fiber all the way to the end of our road (runs right past out house!!) and have strung the messenger wire between the street pole and the pole near our house (we live a little off the road). When will the fiber be run that goes from the street pole to the pole near our house?? By the way, the crews that came out and ran the messenger wire were excellent and very friendly! Thank you
4:11PM November 13, 2018
They are installing our distribution service lines now, and the fiber to the home will be ran when they connect your service. All of Phase 1 installations should be complete by mid 2019.
11:31AM November 09, 2018
Can you tell me which zone I am in? The zone is not labeled on the map I see. We're very close to Brooklyn. What do we need to do to be in the Brooklyn group? As with many members, our only option for wired internet is dial up. We're in a dead spot and some of us can barely get cellular. All the members need and want this fiber, how can we speed up deployment?
4:06PM November 13, 2018
Hi Michael! Your area has not yet been identified. We are coming for you! Be sure to spread the word in your area for your neighbors to preregister, as it will be a factor in determining the next phase.
2:23PM November 08, 2018
Are some Zones going to be split? I noticed that header now shows 23 instead of 18.
4:19PM November 13, 2018
Hi Joe. The zones will not be split, but we have to start somewhere for installation to begin in each Phase. This is why getting your neighbors to sign up is so important, as it helps us decide on where to go next!
12:00PM November 08, 2018
Joe Palmer: Hi Joe! At this time, we are not going to offer email. The IP addresses will be dynamically assigned, but static addresses will be available for a recurring fee.
4:45PM November 06, 2018
A couple of questions. Have you reconsidered offering email? And are ip addresses going to be dynamic or static?
4:11PM November 06, 2018
David Ross: Hi David! We have yard signs and flyers available if you would like some delivered to you. Send us an email at email@example.com with your address. We are working on our marketing plan and spreading the word!
3:50PM November 06, 2018
David Kelley: Hi David. Those areas are outside our territory. It is served by Duke or IPL.
7:38PM November 02, 2018
Some more advertising should be done down 67 after centerton. I love on Herath and the other way i know about it is because of the small signs at Hendersonford and Centerton. More need put out so Stader can get more preregisters!
2:41PM October 31, 2018
Why is it that so many areas along 144 are not shown as a part of any phase? Do we just need to get more people signed up?
10:47AM October 31, 2018
David Bright: Hi David! As long as the address for each building is pre-registered, the installation fee will be waived for both.
3:10PM November 07, 2018
Thanks for the response, does that apply to one address that is already registered and we have two different buildings/power meters at the address. Both of those buildings that are at that address would need fiber service. Do we only need to register the address once, or should we register the address twice and indicate that it is for a second power meter?
10:44AM October 31, 2018
G.L. Woods: Hi Mr. Woods! We are on schedule for distribution for Phase 1
3:57PM October 30, 2018
Steve Brehob: Hi Steve! We are currently installing distribution fiber in that area. You are in Phase 1 and will have fiber available very soon!
3:37PM October 30, 2018
Michelle Jorgensen: Hi Michelle! If you search your address in the 'zones' tab it will show your location being Gosport. Your area has not yet been assigned a Phase, BUT we are coming for you and we promise to reach all of our members!
3:30PM October 30, 2018
Thomas Prose: Hi Thomas. We are looking into the bundling options and will have the information in the coming months.
1:21PM October 30, 2018
For members that pre-register, I see that the installation fee is waived. Will this include service hookup to two buildings at the property address? We have two meters (one with a garage and apartment above and then a house down the drive several hundred yards). Will we be able to have Fiber hookup at both buildings without additional installation fees?
10:48AM October 30, 2018
Are "distribution installations" running ahead of schedule for Phase 1, since the backbone is nearly complete?
10:08AM October 28, 2018
The fiber was recently installed along Conservation Club Road near my house, but to my knowledge not installed on Conservation Club LANE which is the road I am on and within the first zone. I’d hate to be within a few hundred feet of the fiber, squarely within the first zone yet not have it available.
11:13AM October 27, 2018
I live in gosport but this has me in Ellettsville? Is this wrong? And will you come to macville rd for sure or am I going to be heart broken?
1:59AM October 27, 2018
My Dashboard doesn’t say what phase we are in. We live at the front of Clear Creek subdivision. Are we included in a phase? Thanks!
12:50PM October 26, 2018
Any idea of the tv bundle options and price? Trying to figure out before I may have to redo my current cable package.
8:47AM October 26, 2018
Keith Smith: Hi Keith! Yes, the majority of the activity in that area is along cope road near 44, so you may be seeing them. The installation is being performed by a contractor, so their trucks may not say SCI REMC on them.
8:46AM October 26, 2018
Chad Witham: Hi Chad! Our backbone installation for phase one is nearly complete. We lack a few underground installation areas that will be completed very soon. Distribution installations are proceeding in parallel.
1:21PM October 25, 2018
R they installing fiber line on 44 right now?
3:51PM October 23, 2018
Any further updates as to how close the main loop is to being completed?
3:43PM October 23, 2018
Dewayne Elder: Hi Dewayne! Our VoIP phone service will have the same features as your traditional phone service. End-to-end encryption is a function outside residential phone services.
7:49PM October 22, 2018
I see you are offering VoIP phone service. Will your VoIP have end-to-end encryption to keep my call private?
9:12AM October 17, 2018
Anthony Addie: There are a couple ways to see what Phase you are in. 1) When you log in, and click on “My Dashboard” at the top right of the page. It will say if you are in Phase 1, Phase 2, or a named Zone. (Named zones are vying for the Phase 3 spot.) 2)You can also click on the “Zones” link, then click the magnifying eyeglass to type your address in and see where it stands on the map.
4:50PM October 16, 2018
Hello how can I tell what phase I'm in?
8:45AM October 16, 2018
So excited to be in Phase 2. Haven't had good internet options since we had the broadband thru REMC several years ago. If you haven't pre-registered, please do so today. This will be so wonderful, and help Morgan County be a more attractive location for families to live.
4:38PM October 15, 2018
Joe Palmer: We wish it were true already too. :) However, that is a text error due to our site programming. We are fixing it now. (We're glad you're excited!)
4:17PM October 15, 2018
I like the Progress tab on my Dashboard I just wish it were true. It is saying Currently in Service Does that have some other meaning?
7:30AM October 15, 2018
Susan Kornblum: You might have selected "Anonymous" when you set up your original order, but you should show up now.
3:18PM October 13, 2018
Why doesn't my name show up on the "supporters" list here? I have been signed on for many months now. I find names of my near-neighbors, but not mine.
11:38AM October 12, 2018
Robert Emberton: Hi Robert! Phase 1 connections are expected to start in January 2019, and the first connections for Phase 2 are expected to start in July 2019 and run through early 2020.
1:01AM October 12, 2018
Hello! The fiber optic was just installed across the road from my house in Spearsville, so when will we be able to hook up to it? Thanks, Robert
3:03PM October 10, 2018
David Bright: We are currently working on updating our site- stay tuned.
2:46PM October 10, 2018
I noticed you posted some pricing on the bundles that you will have available. Any additional information on the TV bundle and what is included with that(channels, etc.)?
3:43PM October 09, 2018
Ralph Chastin: Calix 844G-1 will be a $10 monthly fee if you subscribe to internet only, but if you bundle any other service such as phone or TV with internet the Calix 844G-1 will be free. We will be announcing our bundling options soon!
10:02AM October 09, 2018
Do you know yet if there is going to be a App for the voicemail for the VOIP phone service. I have this with my current phone provider and it is a really nice feature.
6:28PM October 08, 2018
Does the Calix 844G-1 cost extra a month if we choose this? Any equipment fees? Thank you.
2:53PM October 05, 2018
Mary Bishop: Hi Mary. There is no phone required!
11:42PM October 04, 2018
In your description of the SCI fiber program, you do not state whether or not phone service will be required. I am interested in this only if it saves money. Endeavor requires I get their phone service in order to have internet. This is common with other internet providers. Question: Will a land line be required to have this internet service?
1:03PM October 03, 2018
G.L. Woods: Hi Mr. Woods, As a cooperative, our profits are returned to our members rather than provided to stockholders or private owners. Capital credits are the member’s share of the co-op’s net margins (revenue received by your cooperative minus expenses.) They are divided up proportionally by the amount that each member paid during each specific year. Those who paid more will get more back, and those who paid less will receive a smaller amount back. In the past, capital credits have been paid both through electric bill credits and actual checks sent to members. We will private message you with the amounts and years that capital credits have been paid to your account. We are seeking to provide critical services, use revenues to recover costs, and return what is left. SCI Fiber helps with that equation because, as SCI's costs to provide electricity rise, the additional revenue from SCI Fiber can help cover those costs, allowing us to provide stable electric rates in the future.
8:33AM October 03, 2018
As you mentioned, phase 1 service will start hooking up Jan 2019. How long are you anticipating for it to take for all in phase 1 to be connected ?
8:28AM October 03, 2018
As I'm reading your response to Ed Edwards, you mention "profits will be reinvested & returned to members". When & how is that done? I've been with REMC since 1995 and have never received a dividend. Prior to that I lived in Missouri and was part of an electric coop there that I continue to this day receiving annual dividend checks. Please clarify - thanks
11:18AM October 02, 2018
Benjamin Williams: Hi Ben. Users will have an option to utilize SCI Fiber’s wireless router or provide their own. If you provide your own, SCI plans to provide the Calix 803G bridge device. If users choose to utilize SCI Fiber’s wireless router, we plan to provide a Calix 844G-1. The Calix 844G-1 device is a combination device that includes an optical network terminal (ONT) and a wireless router. The Calix 844G-1 will also allow us to troubleshoot problems quicker which leads to shorter down times in event of issues.
11:16AM October 02, 2018
Ed Edwards: Hi Ed! Information on our TV packages will be coming soon. That is a great question. First, to our knowledge, Endeavor provides a good service, so we’d rather call the following items differences, not necessarily advantages depending on your point of view. Ultimately, the services should be comparable. Here are a few differences that SCI REMC members should understand when dealing with comparable products offered at comparable prices. - SCI Fiber will be made available to all members; even those who live in less densely populated areas. SCI REMC took the risk to do this when others would not. -SCI Fiber is a benefit to SCI REMC electric members because excess revenues from the fiber side will be utilized to help cover expenses on the electric side and help maintain or even reduce electric rates. -Because SCI Fiber is a part of the SCI REMC cooperative, profits will be reinvested and returned to members. -SCI Fiber seeks to provide SCI REMC members and other folks in the community a straight forward bill with no mysterious charges. Before committing to service with another provider, we suggest that folks get a copy of an actual bill and look for unexplained charges. Some providers have as much as $14 added to bills for which there is no service provided.
10:13AM October 02, 2018
John Griffith: Hi John, we set a goal for pre-registration for what we wanted to get to enter that area, and the percentage you are seeing is the actual number of registrations. Meaning, we have surpassed our goal for that area.
8:30AM October 02, 2018
What kind of fiber modem will the internet be using? or is that still undecided?
12:17AM October 02, 2018
What is your advantage over Endeavor?
12:09AM October 02, 2018
are you going to have a TV package to offer
12:52PM October 01, 2018
G.L. Woods: The bundles will include TV, phone, and internet. Bundling options will be coming soon!!
12:51PM October 01, 2018
Lora Beavin: Hi Lora, The only dates we have right now are as follows: Phase 1 connections are expected to start in January 2019, and the first connections for Phase 2 are expected to start in July 2019 and run through early 2020. We will be announcing Phase 3 and 4 at a later date.
12:49PM October 01, 2018
Michael Williams: Hi Michael! That is correct, you can upgrade your package at any time!
8:21AM October 01, 2018
I only bring this up again because you will probably get more questions further into the project. On the "My Dashboard" web page it shows a progress bar chart for my own personal address. You have addressed this earlier to correct the decimal place issue. Now it is reading 105% toward goal. I either don't understand what it is reflecting or there still is a glitch with the code that does the calculation. Please help me understand what progress it is tracking. Thanks
5:11PM September 29, 2018
Will the bundles only include internet & phone, or TV as well?
5:05PM September 28, 2018
Hi, I was wounding if you had a rough estimate of the date and times of the other areas because I'm still under contract.
10:15AM September 28, 2018
Will we as customers be able to upgrade at anytime if the initial plan we signed for isn't fast enough for what we need?
8:30AM September 28, 2018
Benjamin Williams: Hi Ben! Send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your address and the number of signs you are wanting and we will drop them off for you!
10:34AM September 27, 2018
Wayne Wimmenauer: Hi Wayne, yes you will be able to keep your same number.
10:33AM September 27, 2018
Robert Emberton: Hi Robert, we realize the layout might seem odd on this map, but our zones are split up between substations and makes more sense from an operations stand point. Help us spread the word by encouraging your neighbors and friends to preregister. Whichever areas in phase two have the highest percentage of pre-registered members, will be the areas that get internet access first.
8:36AM September 27, 2018
Is there a way to get a yard sign if we are not able to come to the office because of work schedule?
1:10AM September 26, 2018
Can you keep the same phone number if you switch over?
2:17PM September 25, 2018
I see that phase 2 doesn't cover Spearsville but covers south and west of us less than a mile on either side. We have been added to the princess lakes zone but princess lakes is miles away from us. Why can't you include Spearsville into zone 2, it would be more pratical?
10:14AM September 25, 2018
G.L. Woods: Hi Mr. Woods! The fiber will be trenched underground and the trench is very narrow and grass typically recovers after 3 weeks.
10:11AM September 25, 2018
Brian Fleener: Hi Brian! Yes, our performance should match the best fiber to the home networks available.
8:21AM September 25, 2018
John Stigall: Hi John! We are so excited to be able to provide our members with our great package options. Thanks for the info!
11:02AM September 24, 2018
I assume each home signed up for service will need the fiber "hardwired" into the home by REMC - correct? If so, will the cable be trenched or bored across the property? Thanks
9:12AM September 24, 2018
Also...be aware 5G is being rolled out and it may be possible to get home Internet from Verizon or AT&T. In fact you can get 4G home internet now in some areas. Your location determines whether you have signal or not, outside antennas may be needed.
9:10AM September 24, 2018
I do networking for a living and for the vast majority of users 50Mbps will be amazingly fast. Considering they have nothing or spotty cellular coverage now, this will be amazing.
12:27PM September 21, 2018
What kind of latency/ping do you expect to provide with this service? I know that satellite ping is pretty bad and that's probably what most of your rural customers use. I've seen speed tests on the internet with fiber internet delivering pings of 1ms. Can we expect that kind of ping as well?
9:22AM September 21, 2018
Angie Kline: Right you are! The more interest your area shows, the sooner we will get there. Right now, if you look at the status bars for each area, your area has a great response, next in line after the Phase 1 and Phase 2 folks. We are always assessing the timing of our buildout, and we are reaching out to new areas based on interest, sometimes sooner than expected. The best thing you can do is tell your neighbors about SCI Fiber and get them to pre-register. There is no obligation for folks who pre-register, and it helps us ensure they get free setup when we are in the area.
8:18AM September 21, 2018
Angie Kline: Right you are! If you're in the red part (Phase 2), we'll be in your area as early as July 2019, and as late as 2020. We'll be splitting Phase 2 into sub zones soon so you can see what percentage of your neighbors are pre-registered.
8:09PM September 20, 2018
I am in the Paragon zone...any idea when they may start that zone? I am spreading the word! High speed internet brings jobs, education, opportunity!!! Thank you REMC!
3:08PM September 20, 2018
Brian Fleener: Hi Brian, you are in Phase 2!! Phase 1 connections are expected to start in January 2019, and the first connections for Phase 2 are expected to start in July 2019 and run through early 2020. Help us spread the word by encouraging your neighbors and friends to preregister. Whichever areas in phase two have the highest percentage of pre-registered members, will be the areas that get internet access first.
3:01PM September 20, 2018
Joe Palmer: Hi Joe! We are looking into the bundling options and will have the information in the coming months.
2:55PM September 20, 2018
Deborah Faught: We are currently working on making this available.
1:29PM September 20, 2018
Hello. When is the expected installation date for SR67 between Martinsville and Brown's Crossing ?
12:39PM September 20, 2018
Noticed the new flyer mentions TV when will details be available.
9:48AM September 20, 2018
Hello. I have struggled for years with internet service where I live. Can you please explain when I can expect to see this service at 852 S. State Road 67 (Hyndsdale area)? And thank you for FINALLY bringing decent internet to us country folks!
3:07PM September 19, 2018
Jeffrey Dehner: We do not know why. SCI Fiber is strictly a product of SCI REMC.
12:50PM September 19, 2018
Hi Brent, SCI Fiber will reach all of our members in a 4 year time frame. When we will reach other customers will be decided on a case by case basis when we are in the area. As we pass by, we’d like to reach everyone that we can, even if you are not an SCI REMC electric member.
10:48AM September 19, 2018
Hi, it looks like my address is in the Phase 2 tier. Is there any way to tell where the highest concentration of supporters is located for Phase 2? I looked through the zones tab and didn't see that it indicates percentage of sign-up's there. Thank you!
9:26AM September 19, 2018
David Engelking: Hi David, Phase 2 is expected to start in July 2019 and run through early 2020. Could you send the flyer to email@example.com? Thank you!
8:31AM September 19, 2018
Bob Westbrook: The backbone for our project is currently going down Gatesville Rd.
7:51AM September 19, 2018
Hello. Will fiber be offered in the city limits of Paragon? If so, when roughly would that be?
6:47PM September 18, 2018
I’m on Tuley Trace in Nashville and show as phase 2 on my dashboard, but received a flyer back in June or July saying internet would be installed within 6 months of receiving that. Guessing that was received in error.
2:26PM September 18, 2018
Jeffrey or Jo Ann Dehner
Why is endeavor acting like they are behind this?
2:23PM September 18, 2018
Hello, I have seen the conduit and handholds that are out on Gatesville Road. I'm excited to see the conduit in, and hope to review the site and get an idea of when you will be accepting beta testers. We finally have some hope, that we have not been forgotten. thank you and thank the governor for the grant.
4:27PM September 14, 2018
John Griffith: You are in Phase 1, so in your case, "Progress to Goal" of 100% means we are already planning to hook you up by early 2019. For people in the orange area, "Progress to Goal" represents what percentage of the people in their area have pre-registered (which will help determine where Phase 3 will be).
4:14PM September 14, 2018
Regarding "My Dashboard" and the "Progress to Goal" question I posed earlier, it now reads "100% to goal" . Can you help us understand what the "Progress to Goal" represents? Thanks.
2:02PM September 14, 2018
Charles Smith: SCI Fiber is 100% separate from any other provider. SCI REMC is not building fiber for another provider to use. We have posted about this on our SCI REMC facebook page yesterday, and we think you will be interested in what people had to say about it: https://www.facebook.com/SCIREMC/
1:59PM September 14, 2018
Tim Surber: The connection will be underground. We will connect fiber to the outside of the home to a small box called a NID (network interface device) and our installers will run the fiber from the NID into the home. With internet only, it will be no more than $10 per month for the modem. If you bundle services, the modem will likely be included. We will be posting bundling options soon!
1:33PM September 14, 2018
I had the same than as Melody Mallory stated. Endeavor rep came about installing Fiber with the same expected time frame, even referred to it as Phase 2. When I told them I was pre-registered for SCI Fiber and asked if this was the same thing as that and if you guys where working together he said yes. So it appears that Endeavor reps are purposely try to trick people to sign up for them. Are you guys sharing any part of the run from the main hubs to the houses, or is this 100% separate? I will say its nice to go from nothing to 2 companies competing , but with Endeavor trying to trick people makes it easier to choose who to keep the pre ordor with.
11:36AM September 14, 2018
How will the connection be dropped off at the home? Will fiber need to be ran in the home? What is the modem fee for the wireless ? Thank you.
11:10AM September 14, 2018
Melody Mallory: Great questions Melody! We cannot speak on other providers' pricing and information. SCI Fiber is strictly a product from SCI REMC. Our employees will have properly marked apparel and vehicles, and will never pressure you to sign anything on the spot. SCI REMC is not building fiber for another provider to use. SCI Fiber is our internet provider. If you ever have doubts or questions please feel free to give us a call. We will be running fiber directly to your home for ZERO additional fees as long as you sign up for our services when we are in your area. We are NOT charging members an installation fee. We will be offering a router that comes with managed Wi-Fi services for a monthly fee, but we are also allowing members to use their own devices.
9:51AM September 14, 2018
Alan Drake: If you are referring to Phase 2 we are currently working on that. Check back with us!
10:56PM September 13, 2018
A friend of ours who has pre-registered was visited on a Sunday by a representative of Endevour. This representative stated they were with SCIREMC and had to have paperwork filled out before Phase Two could come to our area. They left a contract with our friend. It was for 2 years & was more money than quoted, plus several charges! They also stated the router was required to be bought from them. Our friend told them he would read over the Contract & let them know. My questions: Does this Company have anything to do with SCI Fiber? If not, how do we know the person who comes to our door is your representative? What extra charges, if any, will there be? Are we to pay for a router or any other equipment?
2:33PM September 13, 2018
Is there anyway you can map out the pre-registrations, so we can see what the interest level in our area is like?
11:02AM September 11, 2018
Jeremy Snyder: You can always upgrade your package.
11:00AM September 11, 2018
Jodi Bullock: The red zone is all of our Phase 2 members. Whichever areas in phase two have the highest percentage of pre-registered members, will be the areas that get internet access first.
7:57PM September 10, 2018
I was wanting to know if after install and service started if the package I choose isn't large enough can I upgrade to a larger package with no problem
3:47PM September 10, 2018
It states that my address is phase 2, but it appears I am in the red zone? Can you give me an estimate of time frame for my particular address?
2:50PM September 08, 2018
Well that’s not the news I was hoping for. Another year of smoke signals and Morse code as chief was of communicating here in Northern Morgan County. Well I’m still holding out hope that AT&T will come the 1/2 mile down the road to my house. Probably won’t happen either. Not holding out on being in Phase 3 either.
11:44AM September 07, 2018
John Griffith: Thank you for letting us know about the glitch. I have someone working on it now. Thanks John!
8:38AM September 07, 2018
My Dashboard has the "Progress" as "119000% to goal" . Is this a glitch or is there a way to interpret the number by a decimal placement?
4:54PM September 05, 2018
Thanks for the clarification! Will look forward to service when/if available.
11:23AM September 05, 2018
Ralph Chastin: Our primary goal is to provide a superior service on day 1, and we are taking the proper steps to ensure quality and dependability over speed of deployment. We have a testing period prior to the first connections, and we must ensure the system is fully ready before we launch. With that said, Phase 1 connections are expected to start in January 2019, and the first connections for Phase 2 are expected to start in July 2019 and run through early 2020. The timing of future phases is being planned now and is dependent on multiple factors.
10:29AM September 05, 2018
Brian Warner: To clarify you question... the decisions are largely based on % interest within each specific area regardless of the total number of members in the specific area. If your area has 100 members and 85 pre-register, your area’s percentage will be 85%. If another area has 1,000 people and 650 sign up, that area’s percentage will be 65%. Your area would rank higher even though the overall member count is smaller.
10:00AM September 05, 2018
Brian Warner: Whichever areas in phase two have the highest percentage of pre-registered members, will be the areas that get internet access first.
9:25PM September 04, 2018
Now that the locations and areas have been posted with phase 2 being announced... What drives selection? Overall numbers or a % of the users? Everybody I know around here has preregistered, but it shows at maybe 25% on your graph.. just curious.
4:23PM September 04, 2018
I mean 2020.
4:23PM September 04, 2018
When is phase 3? July 2019?
4:14PM September 04, 2018
David Bright: Members in phase two will have high-speed internet service available as soon as July of 2019. Help us spread the word by encouraging your neighbors and friends to preregister. Whichever areas in phase two have the highest percentage of pre-registered members, will be the areas that get internet access first.
4:11PM September 04, 2018
Michael Millikan: Yes, Phase 1 will have service by early 2019.
1:59PM September 04, 2018
After about 2.5 months of construction of Phase 1, are there any updates on the construction? Is it going as expected? Is the schedule still to have service to phase 1 by end of 2018 or early 2019? Will all of phase 1 have service by early 2019?
1:43PM September 04, 2018
I see the announcement of phase 2! Some other to the zone page as well. I noticed some of the pre-construction work on our road this last week. Any update on the timetable for when installations may begin or expected to begin for zone 2?
11:51AM September 04, 2018
Joe Palmer: Yes, an extender will be an option.
11:51AM September 04, 2018
Bill Heacock: Hi Bill. In most cases, yes.
10:46AM September 03, 2018
Do you know yet if you are going to offer the Calix 804Mesh satellites as a option.
8:41AM September 03, 2018
I hope all is going well! My question is: If the power goes out and my generator kicks in, will the internet link still function? Thanks!
2:00PM August 29, 2018
Christopher Williams: Yes, we will be running single mode fiber cable, and if your electricity line is underground, your fiber line will be as well. At the time of your pre-drop survey visit, please talk to the technician regarding the armored single mode fiber.
12:19PM August 29, 2018
Ok I hope it's ok to ask this here: in the past, I've tried multiple different cable companies, in hopes to be provided with fast and reliable internet service, to no avail. The main reason they couldn't do it, was because they would have to run a line underground about 400 ft away from an existing pole. Which I believe is how you guys run your power line to my residence. I assume that you'll be running single mode fiber cable. What are the chances that you could run armored single mode fiber to my residence? I'd do anything to get this to happen. I'd even be willing to help you guys with whatever services you need. I went to school for Computer Information Systems, so I could always be of help regarding WAN. Feel free to contact me at any time, as my information is in your guys systems. 2558 greasy Creek. Ty
9:04AM August 29, 2018
Martha McIntosh: You can check and see if your address is within Phase 1 by visiting the Zones tab and typing your address in the search box in the upper right corner of the map.
9:02AM August 29, 2018
David Bright: You don't want to miss it!
11:38PM August 28, 2018
Is Mount Zion Road included in Phase One. We have terrible internet and most of our neighbors have no internet and no phone.
9:07PM August 28, 2018
Excited to hear what the news is this week!
11:04AM August 28, 2018
Sharon Bathory: We recently added Tier4 as an option, and are updating that information on our preregistration page, thank you for the feedback. You will be able to change your Tier selection at a later date. All Tier's all available for all members.
11:03AM August 28, 2018
Kelly Rice: We are happy to hear about your excitement about fiber coming to Brown County. We promise to get to ALL of our members :)
9:55PM August 27, 2018
I can only sign up for Tier 3. I prefer to have TIer 4. Why is Tier 4 not an option for us?
3:28PM August 27, 2018
I was ecstatic to see the spools of fiber at Hassetown and Lick Creek! I can see by the map that Lick Creek isn’t slated for Phase I yet but it’s my sincerest hope that Lick Creek gets included soon. Brown County is in desperate need of fast, reliable internet service.
8:42AM August 27, 2018
Jon Prairie: You bet! We are very excited to be providing all of our members with high-speed internet!
1:53PM August 24, 2018
Thank you for the clarification and am anxiously waiting. Thanks for working to provide us service.
9:14AM August 24, 2018
Jon Prairie: We are currently constructing the backbone. The backbone is the main fiber loop that will carry high-speed internet to our entire service territory. It will be passing thousands of homes that are not in Phase 1 of our project. Unfortunately, there are a lot of members who are just outside of the border of Phase 1 and will have to wait for service. We promise to reach all of our members and we are glad you are excited about the project!
9:06AM August 24, 2018
Deborah Faught: The only Phase that has been determined has been Phase 1. Please visit our updates tab often, as we will be keeping our members up-to-date with the location of Phase 2-4. Spread the word about pre-registering!
8:46PM August 23, 2018
Ok..still confused...since fiber is now lashed up on Hassetown Rd next to my house...does this mean I can connect during tier 1...or is this not going to be activated? Please clarify. Thanks
11:51AM August 22, 2018
Hi, Can you tell me what tier of completion 3 Notch Road in Nashville, IN is in? Thank you!
2:42PM August 20, 2018
Joe Palmer: We are glad to hear you joined us at our 79th Annual Member Meeting, and that we were able to answer all of your questions!
2:41PM August 20, 2018
Wayne Wimmenauer: Yes, the pre-registration just gives us an idea of what you are interested in. Once fiber is available to your home, you will be able to change your package options.
2:31PM August 19, 2018
Very good display at the Annual Meeting yesterday. Answered all my questions regarding what the customer equipment will be. It was nice to see the new CEO of SCIREMC at the fiber section answering questions.
1:03PM August 19, 2018
Will we be able to update our plan ? My order shows Tier 3 at $150 I would like Tier 3 plus phone service. that was not available when I signed up.
10:17AM August 08, 2018
John Stigall: We are not currently working in that area. Comcast is moving some facilities due to an INDOT. That is a good question. We are willing to have a conversation to understand unique circumstances and see if we can accommodate them.
9:05AM August 06, 2018
Question...would a non-profit corporation be allowed to redistribute a network connection wirelessly?
10:42AM August 03, 2018
Is the activity on and near Kent Rd, Eastern Monroe County part of the backbone network? I assume so.
1:52PM August 01, 2018
Steven Crook: We are happy to hear how excited you are, we are too!! Our Fiber department is expanding, so keep an eye out on our careers page for available jobs, www.sciremc.com/careers. :)
1:40PM August 01, 2018
Need any help? I have worked as a network engineer for more than a decade and have been in IT for almost 20 years :) I'd be willing to lend some expertise to the project to be in phase 2 :D It's worth a try on my part (and maybe a laugh :] ) Okay, maybe just worth giving you all a chuckle :-) I am super excited to finally get access to high speed internet. Have a good day!
1:14PM July 31, 2018
Joe Palmer: We were the sponsor of the day on Monday, July 30.
1:03PM July 31, 2018
Do you have a booth setup at the County fair this week?
3:01PM July 27, 2018
Savannah McIntosh: We are keeping our options open and considering many possibilities at this time.
2:38PM July 27, 2018
Robert Emberton: The portion of fiber being referred to is called the backbone. Phase 1 includes 50 miles of backbone fiber which connects the substations back to the main office, which is where our headend is. Without the backbone, we wouldn't be able to connect our distribution fiber, and thus our members, to the Internet. We are building the backbone first so we'll be able to build and test the connections to the substation equipment while the distribution fiber is built to the homes.
1:50PM July 27, 2018
Jon Prairie: We are currently only placing strand for phase one.
12:25PM July 27, 2018
As a member of both South Central and Endeavor Communications why not partner with Endeavor Communications where they already have fiber? Would that not be less expensive for South Central versus running all new fiber?
9:39PM July 26, 2018
Your progress report say you are hanging wire on Gatesville road. Gatesville road isn't in zone 1, so does it mean we'll be next to get the service?
1:17PM July 26, 2018
Wayne Wimmenauer: The state park happens to be on one of the electric lines that was chosen as a part of phase 1 build-out. There is not a specific reason that the park is included
11:39AM July 26, 2018
Chad Witham: We are installing fiber overhead and underground where we can. Unfortunately, most of our service territory consists of hills and forest, and as we've learned from our electric side, installing lines underground costs 4-14 times as much as overhead. Using our existing poles also means we don't have to purchase easement agreements and access to external underground facilities.
11:01AM July 26, 2018
Are the contractors only having strands where the phase one area is?
8:20AM July 26, 2018
Wayne Wimmenauer: We used outside consultants to help us determine phase one. Which park are you referring to?
4:54PM July 25, 2018
Are they only placing strand now for the phase one project or beyond that?
9:34AM July 25, 2018
Working in the Center Grove area and seeing fiber go into to neighborhoods quickly I am wondering why you guys are hanging it pole by pole instead of boring it like everyone else is doing.
2:21AM July 25, 2018
So how did the 1st phase end up going to the state park?
8:33AM July 24, 2018
Jami Rakes: We are happy to hear you are excited about this! Pre-registering will be a factor in determining where we will be going next, but the next phase has not yet been determined. Stay up-to-date by visiting our updates tab for project information.
8:27AM July 24, 2018
Sandra Frazer: At this time, there is no additional charge for our members regardless of distance. We will evaluate non-member connections that are some distance away and try to come up with a plan that works. It is possible that there will be additional charges for non-members who are some distance away.
8:19AM July 24, 2018
Wayne Wimmenauer: We understand the high demand for high-speed internet in your area. We are using preregistration as a factor in determining the next phase. We are encouraging everyone to share our preregistration site with your neighbors and friends as the next phase has not yet been set.
8:16AM July 24, 2018
Paige Wagner: Unfortunately, it is not in Phase 1, but we are coming for you! Stay up-to-date and follow our project plans in our updates tab on this site!
6:26PM July 21, 2018
I have a question, we are very excited about getting high speed internet in our area but I feel a little discouraged because we live behind the Royal Motel and there are only 3 houses back here. Does that mean we will be one of the last areas to get the service because you all are looking at areas with thousands of people? I really hope and pray that’s not the case. Please advise. Thank you
4:49PM July 20, 2018
What if your house is significantly off the road? Is there an additional charge to get it from the road back to the house?
1:51AM July 20, 2018
We have bad "all" service in our area except for electric. Is that going to be considered when going to phase 2 or just # of signups?
11:32AM July 19, 2018
Hi, I’m on HashRd. near Brummetts Creek Rd. in Bloomington—Monroe County. Any chance this can be part of phase one? Thanks
10:56PM July 18, 2018
I have been pre regestered for months now
10:54PM July 18, 2018
My property line is the brown county line. So you are saying you won’t extend phase 1 200 feet to hook me up as part of phase1?
12:40PM July 18, 2018
Thomas Smith: We are currently working on our bundling options! Unfortunately phase one does stop at the Brown & Morgan county line. Stay up-to-date with where we will go next in our Updates tab. Make sure you pre-register!
5:05PM July 17, 2018
I live on north Haasetown road at the Brown co. Morgan county line. Phase 1 seems to be less than a mile in 3 directions why am I not in phase 1
4:59PM July 17, 2018
Will there be any internet security included with the sercvice?
10:07AM July 17, 2018
Cody Lewis-Goodman: You can view all of Phase one here: https://join.sciremc.com/#Zones. You can also search by street name!
10:03AM July 17, 2018
Jarrett Phillips: We are focusing initially on SCI REMC's territory, which covers Brown, Clay, Johnson, Monroe, Morgan, Owen, and Putnam County.
7:48AM July 17, 2018
Savannah McIntosh: Good question! SCI REMC is installing fiber to our members for two main reasons. The first, as you know, is to provide high-speed internet for those who don’t have it. The second is for a communications system of our own, to improve outage management and distribution automation, which requires us to install fiber throughout our entire service area.
1:26PM July 14, 2018
Is Salt Creek rd near Gatesville rd part of phase 1 construction?
11:02AM July 13, 2018
Will you be doing Lawrence and Orange County?
3:05PM July 12, 2018
Seth James: The next phase has not yet been determined. Help us spread the word by sharing this page and encouraging family and friends to pre-register, as it will be a factor in determining the next phase.
2:17PM July 12, 2018
I am already a member of Endeavor Communications a Telephone Cooperative that just buried fiber to my home. Are you planning to compete with Endeavor Communications where they already have fiber? Is that not a waste of money when we already have great broadband service from a Cooperative?
12:18PM July 09, 2018
Any definite plans on when the areas east of Spencer may get service? Has there been much support for SCI Fiber in that area? I know my family is extremely interested in Tier 2 service.
10:28AM July 09, 2018
Micheal Taylor: We currently do not have a map available. However, we will be providing updates of what's being worked on and what's been accomplished in our Updates tab.
10:24AM July 09, 2018
Chad Witham: We have several unknowns ahead that could alter the timing of completion of phase 1 in one direction or another. Overall, we are on track with our original plan. Our primary focus is rolling out a dependable, well-constructed fiber network with which our members are well pleased over the long-term.
10:43PM July 05, 2018
I would love to see a map on your website that shows the area currently being worked on and the progress.
9:20AM July 05, 2018
Tiffany Sanders: We are so excited to bring high-speed internet to you and your family! :)
9:18AM July 05, 2018
Susan Grubbs: We will be able to fit your high-speed internet needs. Once we are at your home prior to install, please advise our design and pre-drop coordinator of your needs and they will be able to develop a solution for you.
1:56PM July 04, 2018
Just curious why there seem ps to be so much delay already, first thing I saw was construction would begin in May and phase 1 would be done by the end of the year. Then it was June 18, the pic you posted shows yet another week of delays with the project having started on June 25th and now I see reference to phase 1 being complete early 2019.
8:58PM July 03, 2018
Thank you for bringing fiber to us "un-reachables" by other surrounding companies. Literally I live a mile from three directions of other providers! My kids will thank you!...I will thank you b/c working from home may actually be an option again for me. Additionally, as my kids grow, the school curriculum requires internet hook ups to do homework. Thank you again!
3:09PM July 02, 2018
Hello. We are very excited about this project as I currently work from home. My employer will pay for my office line so I would like to sign up for that first and then once I’m out of contract with my ATT hotspot I’d like to add an additional line for personal use. Will that be possible with initial installation? If so, how will I go about getting set up? My company isn’t local but they do set everything up through our broadband provisioning team. Thank you in advance.
3:00PM July 02, 2018
Bernard Wood: All of Phase 1 will receive high-speed internet in early 2019. The first part of our project is the back bone and feeder construction. Once that is complete, we will start on the service drops and in home installation. We are happy to hear about your excitement on our Fiber project!
2:39PM July 02, 2018
Sharon Bathory: No, SCI will be installing our own fiber lines.
10:28AM July 02, 2018
Hello! Just thought I would check in...We are on McWhorter Road...between Bill Smith Road and Dillman Road. We are considered Phase 1. Just curious about once the fiber is run to this area and installed in our residence do need to wait until the completion of Phase 1 to get internet? Or are things connected and powered up as you go along? I hope that make sense....It looks like the installers are still southwest of us. Is that correct? Tell them to take care and be safe! Thank you! We are really excited!
9:42AM July 02, 2018
Carl Miller: No, we do not envision our low internet pricing to change anytime soon.
9:02AM July 02, 2018
Lake Edgewood and Wilbur Road have fiber optic lines installed by ATT but fiber was never hooked up. ATT dropped the project in favor of cell usage. The node only had to be hooked up. Can REMC use these fiber lines to get gigabit speed this way faster?
1:39PM July 01, 2018
How long does REMC envision the initial 1 year contract rates ($55/month for 50Mbps, for example) staying at that cost? Put more bluntly, are these costs stable or should we expect increases?
2:15PM June 27, 2018
Duane Wasylyshen: The next phase has not yet been determined. We are currently working on construction of the Fiber in Phase 1. We promise to keep everyone informed. We are coming : )
2:09PM June 27, 2018
Bryan Neal: Phase II has not yet been determined. We will keep everyone informed in the updates tab.
2:08PM June 27, 2018
Robert Emberton: Not at the moment, we are looking to add this feature in the coming months. There will be no data caps : )
2:02PM June 27, 2018
Chad Witham:If your electric service is underground, your fiber will also be underground. Where fiber will be run on your property and where it will contact your home will be determined/described when our SCI Fiber representative meets with you on site prior to installation
10:46AM June 26, 2018
I really would like to know the reach after phase 1 it appears that I'm out of that area towards the Mooresville side of things and was wondering how long I'm gonna have to wait for fiber to be available I know phase 1 is early 2019 but that feels so far away dealing with unstable internet
9:40AM June 26, 2018
Do you know yet where phase II will be?
10:28PM June 25, 2018
Robert Emberton: Some internet providers say no data caps, however they reduce your speed after you use so many gigabytes. Is REMC going to do that?
6:10PM June 25, 2018
Robert Emberton: Is there anyway we can see how many people have signed up in our zone?
2:03PM June 25, 2018
Doug Southworth: We are going to start with IPv4, with IPv6 being available in the near future.
11:04AM June 25, 2018
John Proctor: Construction started last week and will be available to 3,754 homes in Phase 1 in early 2019.
3:47PM June 22, 2018
Will static IPv4 addresses be available? How about IPv6 addresses?
11:42AM June 21, 2018
Has Phase One started yet.I would love to have this by the end of the year.
10:34AM June 21, 2018
Have you started Phase one yet?
8:29PM June 19, 2018
So your. Refs have surveyed the power lines in front of my house, however no one surveyed the ones down the side nor behind my home. My power comes in underground and behind our home. Where will fiber be coming into my home from?
11:24AM June 15, 2018
James Baughn: We posted an answer on May 15, but put it with another user's answer. Sorry about that. The answer is no, fiber is much more reliable and faster. Fiber will be installed parallel to our electric lines.
11:05AM June 15, 2018
May 14th I asked this question "At any point, will Broadband over Power Lines be used?" Why has it not been answered?
9:57AM June 13, 2018
Bryan Neal: Yes, Fiber internet and VOIP phone service are separate from a landline.
8:51AM June 13, 2018
Lisa Shelton: We understand the high demand for high-speed internet in your area. Don't worry, we are coming for you :) Keep an eye on this site under our updates pages. We promise to keep our members informed of every move!
5:27PM June 11, 2018
I need your service now! The top half of Arthur rd cannot get highspeed internet. We can only get Satalite, it's very expensive and unreliable. Last I checked we did at least have a choice of 2 service providers. Unfortunatly you must also pay for their satalite TV to get it with one of them. I realize for money reasons you will install in areas with the most people interested but I'd really like it if you installed in areas without options. We need you yesterday! I'm tired of paying $70+ a monthfor 10 g of data. It is gone in a flash. Not that our speeds could even support streaming but it would be nice to feel like I live in the present technological civilization. We can't even get a cell signal here.
11:22AM June 11, 2018
Will you be able to use this service if you no longer use a landline? We did have one a while back but canceled the service and went strictly to cell phone service.
2:14PM June 08, 2018
Jen Reeves: Yes, you will be able to change your Tier selection to a bigger package option after it is installed. Yes, you will be able to keep the same number.
9:34AM June 07, 2018
Doug Southworth: Yes, you will be able to use your own equipment.
7:56AM June 05, 2018
Ian Former: Encourage your family and friends by sharing this site for preregistration. It will be a factor on where we decide to go next!
7:55AM June 05, 2018
Seth Cummings: We are excited to bring fiber to our members! Help us spread the word by sharing this site and encouraging your family and friends to preregister!
7:54AM June 05, 2018
Becky Teeters: Correct, we are just getting an idea of interested Tier options. You will be able to change your Tier selection once fiber is available in your area.
10:27PM June 04, 2018
Hi, is it possible to change your tier after it has been installed in your home if it is not enough mbps to do the things you would like it to? Also, if you have an existing landline phone can you keep your same number? Is it considered a landline still? Will it work even when power is out like current landlines? Thank you! Very excited about actual, reliable internet!
1:01PM June 01, 2018
Will IPv6 be available? Also, if I use my own router, will your modem be just a modem, or will it have some sort of router built into it as well? What I'm asking is will I be able to use your modem simply to access the network without any other hurdles in the way so that I can use my own equipment?
4:12PM May 31, 2018
What can we do as members to make this happen mor rapidly. I am in Montgomery Twp and eagerly await our fiber trunk.
11:58AM May 30, 2018
Im in for tier 4! I don't care about price. I'll pay, and gladly. We've been dealing with a hotspot here for 3 years, and satellite before that. We need to be getting word out on the street about this opportunity.
9:55AM May 30, 2018
Preregistering doesn't lock me into a program, right? Just gives me the option to choose when it gets to my area?
9:43AM May 30, 2018
Thomas Prose: You will be able to use your own router, but details on modem and routers are still being worked out. Please check our updates and plans & pricing pages for updated future information.
2:43PM May 29, 2018
Had another question does the pricing in the tiers also include modem and router and other fees or are those extra and if so what is the pricing for those.
12:27PM May 29, 2018
Finally! Never could figure out how I could get city water and natural gas to my house but not high speed internet above 25mbps. Competition is a good thing, too!
8:20AM May 29, 2018
Brad Gradert: Fiber is coming to all of our members! Stay up-to-date with construction by visiting this page!
8:19AM May 29, 2018
Hayden Young: Construction begins in June with service drops coming in October. In-home installations will start in December/January.
4:01PM May 28, 2018
Please bring fibor into Watson Meadows neighborhood.
11:18PM May 27, 2018
When will zone 1 people be able to use fiber
8:37AM May 23, 2018
Tommi Wright: We are using preregistration as a factor in determining the next phase. We are encouraging everyone to share our preregistration site with your neighbors and friends as the next phase has not yet been set.
8:31AM May 23, 2018
Thomas Jackson: Fiber will be installed parallel to our electric lines.
5:54PM May 22, 2018
Is there an ETA for unionville because I’m assuming it’ll be serviced close to last
4:12PM May 22, 2018
Is this fiber going to be buried or attached to poles like our electric is?
10:50AM May 15, 2018
Donald & Vickie Morrison: We are so glad to hear how excited you and your family are about fiber! VOIP is an additional $40 charge regardless of the TIER you select since the VOIP service is optional. We are excited to bring Fiber to you!
10:47AM May 15, 2018
Ralph Chastain: All uploads are the same, upload and download . Check out our Plans & Pricing tab! James Baughn: No, fiber is much more reliable and faster. Fiber will be installed parallel to our electric lines.
5:22PM May 14, 2018
Donald & Vickie Morrison
Dear SCI REMC: THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Our family cannot wait to have your fiber service installed!!! We have been reading about the addition of the 500 Mbps tier and we think this is also excellent news--thank you! It hits that awesome "sweet spot" between the 100 Mbps and the 1,000 Mbps (1 Gbps) plans. Plus, it's a fair deal for symmetrical service, without any quotas! This cannot happen quickly enough. Also, we just noticed, too, that in addition to adding the 500 Mbps tier for $100.00 per month, now, the $40.00 per month fee for VoIP service has been waived for those purchasing the 1 Gbps tier, at $150.00 per month!!! Honestly, that $40.00 per month fee for VoIP service seemed a little expensive to us, particularly for those purchasing the more expensive tiers; however, with that fee being waived on the 1 Gbps tier, this makes this tier that much more attractive. Plus, it makes this top tier much more economical, since it just received a $40.00 per month price cut!!! Thank you, SCI REMC for installing and providing these excellent services for your co-op members!!! Our family will continue to spread the word on these great upcoming fiber services from SCI REMC; again, thank you!!! BRING ON THE FIBER!!!
3:01PM May 14, 2018
At any point, with Broadband over Power Lines be used?
8:25AM May 12, 2018
What about upload speeds? Can you make them the same? Thank you.
3:23PM May 10, 2018
Michael Sipes: Yes, that is correct! You will be able to select your Tier during installation.
3:22PM May 10, 2018
Joe Palmer: We are working on ONT details. Please check back in the updates tab.
2:43PM May 10, 2018
James Hammon: Looks like Tier 2 will be great for you! Visit our Plans & Pricing tabs to check out the other Tiers available. If you decide you want to change Tiers, you will be able to do so at the time of installation.
11:02AM May 09, 2018
I pre-registered but I can decide what Tier and whether or not I get phone at the time of installation correct?
1:47PM May 08, 2018
Do you know yet what ONT you are going to be using? (the device that the fiber terminates in at the house)
6:53AM May 08, 2018
We live approximately 4 miles outside of Mooresville in densely populated area that is woefully underserved. I signed up for the Tier 2 service when it becomes available in our area. My question is how much speed/capacity will I need for a TV streaming service like YouTube or Sling Tv. Our cable from Newwave is atrocious! Help!! Thanks in advance, James L. Hammon Jr.
2:56PM May 04, 2018
Tommi Wright: It is starting from our headquarters in Martinsville. We are hoping we can get as many members preregistered as possible.
9:23AM May 04, 2018
Im curious also. What is the goal is for preregistered supporters?
7:48PM May 03, 2018
Hello, just curious.. but from where is the fiber optics coming from? is it running from martinsville down south? is it going from south side upwards? I live in unionville and I wanted to estimate or an estimate as to when we will be serviced. I read up that service to all Phase 1 customers will be by the end of this year, but I assume some get it faster than others correct?
3:56PM May 02, 2018
Kurtis Alexander: We are using this site to gather interest as a factor on where to go next. We do not have a date set at this time, but we hope to announce Phase 2 by the end of this year.
11:27AM May 02, 2018
Excited for this service! I see that construction is started (or will start soon) but what is the planned completion date for Phase I? When will all Phase I customers have service available?
4:03PM April 30, 2018
Our current internet is slow, unreliable, and has little to nothing on the upload side. With no competition, improvement or service are not a priority. We are so excited to have SCI Fiber out near Sweetwater. Any word on when Phase 2 will be announced? The suspense is killing me.
6:46PM April 29, 2018
We are so excited! Need this service ASAP, my wife has opportunity to work from home but we cannot get the service it requires so we need this now. Location is north of Spencer, north of to 67/231 junction.
8:52AM April 27, 2018
This is good news. Needs to expand north of Spencer as soon as possible. I do medical research that requires internet downloads and satellite just does not do the job. I have to drive into Indianapolis sometime just to get a faster connection to get data. Thank you for the initiative!
9:44AM April 26, 2018
Thomas Prose: Tier 1 is $55 and Tier 2 is $65
4:19PM April 25, 2018
So according to the plans and pricing tab. Tier 1 and tier 2 would have the same price. Is that correct?
4:00PM April 25, 2018
Valerie Foley: We will be offering VOIP (voice-over-IP) telephone service that can be bundled with the internet service. VOIP allows you to make voice calls using your Internet connection instead of a regular phone line.
10:33AM April 25, 2018
Just a quick note: We have not been able to use the service we have, dial up, for years and would love to finally be able to use, at our home, a service we pay for monthly. Who could I contact about the type of phone service that REMC can provide? We currently have AT&T land line at our home. Will the REMC be land line or will it be cell phone? Thank you, Valerie
7:55AM April 24, 2018
Thomas Prose: Tier 1 pricing is $55.00 monthly. You can see other options by clicking the Plans & Pricing tab on our website.
8:51PM April 21, 2018
What is tier 1 proce
4:47PM April 21, 2018
Rats! I'm not in the Phase One area! We've had the internet service REMC experimented with over the electric lines! I was very happy with it, but then it went bye-bye. Now I'm on Satellite Internet and Phone. Pricey! Can't wait till you offer this in our area!
9:00AM April 20, 2018
Chad Witham: Construction will begin for phase 1 at the end of May. The backbone is the main fiber loop that will carry high-speed internet to our entire service territory. From the backbone/loop fiber lines will be carried into specific service areas. From those areas, we will connect to individual member homes. You will sign a contract for service immediately prior to installing fiber inside your home. Installation is free for members if you preregister and then sign up for service (sign a contract) once we are in your area. If we have to go back to your home after construction is completed in that area, there will be an installation fee of $300.
4:15PM April 19, 2018
Also what is the managed WiFi plan?
4:06PM April 19, 2018
I have some questions in regards to your comment below that you’ll connect members that have a signed contract in phase one once the backbone construction has been completed. 1. Where and when do we sign contracts? 2. What is considered the backbone construction? 3. What is the tap fee to actually connect to the fiber? I have heard some numbers from other areas and most of them are well outside what seems reasonable or affordable once again limiting those that can get high speed Internet.
1:11PM April 19, 2018
Richard Melton: We will connect members that have signed a contract and that are located in Phase 1 once the backbone construction has been completed.
11:39AM April 19, 2018
Are you planning on hooking people up as you go along?
11:31AM April 18, 2018
I am excided to hear the news. It least there is hope for us country people. My 2.5 DSL doesn't cut it in todays internet, just to update my phone takes a while. At least someone finally cares. It might be 2 years before it gets to me but, thats two years earlier than the other companies. I spread it on FB. Great job SCREMC....
2:20PM April 16, 2018
So excited to hear this advancement. Difficult to live in this day and age without good internet. Children are spending too much time at Starbucks and McDonalds doing school work! Looking forward to your installation on Pumpkinvine Hill Road and Wilbur Road Area.
12:24PM April 16, 2018
Ed Bitner: We are very excited to be bringing fiber to our members! Our entire fiber project will be completed in 4 years. Our current focus is getting high-speed internet to our members. We do not have plans to offer TV at this time.
10:31AM April 16, 2018
Hey there! I am so thrilled to hear this! Let me know how I can help! I am a former Comcast employee and a current Comcast contractor (Video Production...not cable installation). Let me know what I can do to help spread the word and get word out and get this show on the road! thank you!!!!
6:53PM April 14, 2018
We are more than excited to hear this. We once had FTTH with Smithville Telephone before we built this new home and moved in. When we first bought the property 11 years ago Smithville told us they would have FTTH out here (Stinesville) in two years. They've told us that every year for 10 years and just this last month told us they "might" have it out here in three years. I hope SCIREMC beats that record. But I also hope you will offer TV service as well like Smithville did when we had them.
1:26PM April 13, 2018
Eric Robinson: Thank you for helping us spread the word! Preregistration is very important!
12:11PM April 13, 2018
This is wonderful. I have been dreaming of this for years. It is VERY important to pre-register because the documentation says that plans will not be finalized until pre-registration goals are met. So, I encourage everybody to PLEASE pre-register now. The sooner the pre-registration goals are met, the sooner the work will begin! THANKS!!!!
8:03AM April 13, 2018
We are so happy to hear about all of the excitement! John Webb: We are using preregistration as a factor in determining the next phase. We are encouraging everyone to share our preregistration site with your neighbors and friends as the next phase has not yet been set. We promise to keep everyone up to date during this exciting time!
11:38PM April 12, 2018
I understand that the Zone 1 construction is scheduled to start the end of may. Can you advise when the service is scheduled to be available for use?
8:48PM April 12, 2018
BEYOND EXCITED!!!! READY TO KICK MY CURRENT PROVIDER TO THE CURB AFTER YEARS OF PLEADING FOR FIBER......LOVE TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS AND HAVE NO PROBLEM SUPPORTING REMC WHO SEES THE BIG PICTURE!!! VERSUS $$$$$
11:30AM April 12, 2018
I can't begin to express the joy I will feel to get high speed data! If it will get me hooked up faster, I will volunteer to dig a trench or two....
5:08PM April 11, 2018
Lake Edgewood is struggling to find decent internet. Would love it if this were available out here. Would sign up immediately.
8:24AM April 11, 2018
Nathan Jeter: Zone 1 construction will start at the end of May, and parts of Monroe and Brown counties are scheduled to be services by the end of 2018.
5:32PM April 10, 2018
I have preregistered and am in zone 1. What is the timeline for zone 1’s completion?
9:51AM April 10, 2018
Barbara Fowler: The equipment we offer with your plan will provide Wi-Fi in your home
2:48PM April 09, 2018
As President of Dogwood Hill Estates (located between SR67 and SR142), we are VERY excited for this service to finally be coming available in our area. We've tried satellite internet (terrible) and finally have just learned to minimally survive with activating personal hotspots from our cell phones. This truly is great news! Hopefully our area (and that of our Wilbur neighbors) will be included on the next phase of fiber installation! Thank you!
1:17PM April 09, 2018
What about Wi-Fi?
2:53PM April 06, 2018
We're very excited about this. I use the internet to make a living, and regularly drive to a nearby town to sit in coffee shops just to get work done. That's because right now we get our internet via cell phone, and that's only possible with a booster antenna placed on the roof, as high as we can get it. Our speeds are typically about 1.5mbps, with 0.2mbps being typical for the evening, making even basic email almost unusable, nevermind video. I will be telling my neighbors about this!
11:51AM April 05, 2018
Jonathan Weaver: Encourage your neighbors and friends to preregister, as this will be a factor in determining the next Phase. Check our Updates tab to stay up to date on future steps in the fiber project. High-speed internet IS coming to you!
7:53AM April 05, 2018
John Webb: Work will begin in May, and parts of Monroe and Brown counties are scheduled to be serviced by the end of 2018!
9:38PM April 04, 2018
Ill be ready for when it hits Wilbur Rd. Ive been wiring my house with gigabit ready equipment and Cat. cable while remodeling and when this hits the area, it will be great. Looks like pre planning for the future paid off.
7:02PM April 04, 2018
Looks like yet another company skipping my area - per your map... crooked creek area off big bend road l, far north Morgan county near 37 isn’t included. Already have your electric service, would be extremely happy if remc would run device to out neighborhood that always gets skipped. 40isj homes and I’d have a hard time imagining almost all wouldn’t sign up
4:56PM April 04, 2018
I am so excited to see this happening! Alas I am not in phase 1, oh the antici.................pation!
4:51PM April 04, 2018
YAY!!! This is exciting news! Is there a projected groundbreaking?
4:32PM April 04, 2018
YAY!!!! Any concept of when ground will be broke for fiber project?
4:24PM April 04, 2018

2:16PM April 04, 2018
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Stay connected, and visit often to view our Updates tab.
2:15PM April 04, 2018
Yes, yes, and yes again! Been far too long to be without fast internet....
2:00PM April 04, 2018
This is great news! With today's way of living internet has became a huge part of that. this has been long over due for the people of Morgantown!! Can't wait!
1:51PM April 04, 2018
I can’t wait to get this. But you need to advertise this great deal a whole lot more. The only way I found out about it is through my son who heard about it from a friend. I know there has to be a lot of people out there who would jump all over this if they knew about it. I don’t know how but you must GET THE WORD OUT!!!!!!
1:27PM April 04, 2018
Do they know when they will be starting in the Wilbur area?
10:07AM April 04, 2018
I'm more than ready to have this at my home. I just moved into the area 6 months ago and the lack of internet options has really made life difficult for someone who works in IT. Let us know what we can do to help move this along!
9:55AM April 04, 2018
This is great news. Finally gave up on AT&T DSL and went with a cellular plan. But a fiber connection would be so much BETTER ready to kick AT&T phone and cellular to the curb if this comes my neighborhood.
8:02PM April 03, 2018
Please hurry. We’re suck in the stone ages working with cell internet lol. We need it on three story hill road
5:01PM April 03, 2018
Our current internet is equivalent to a hamster on a wheel. Can't wait for something that works.
4:29PM April 03, 2018
I am so excited to be in the phase one group..been waiting for a long time for good quality internet and this sounds like it will be exceptional! Thabks for bring this to our area!
3:38PM April 03, 2018
Excited to see this and can't get signed up soon enough!
2:16PM April 03, 2018
Thank you for providing this to your customers. This is a long time coming for us in Brown County. Glad to see that even though I'm not included in phase 1, it should only be a matter of time now before we are able to join the 21st Century.
1:01PM April 03, 2018
this cant happen soon enough...im excited to possibly get unlimited internet!
12:46PM April 03, 2018
Super excited about the thought of bringing Fiber to the Mooresville area and all other areas. Looking forward to the great service provided by SCI REMC.
