Construction Updates by Zone
Please see below for estimated timelines related to zones being constructed in 2023. Please remember that many factors could change these timelines!
In Service Zones: Construction and drops are complete for the following zones:

***New orders for these zones are continually coming in. Our target is to provide service to any new orders in these zones within 8-12 weeks of registering if weather allows. ***
Active Drops Construction: The following areas are actively building drops:
- Cunot 104
- Spencer 101 – all areas are open to drops.
- Freedom – the northwest section is open to drops.
- Hart Lake – all areas open for drops.
- Smithville – Stinesville North
- Smithville – Modesto
- Smithville – Indian Hills
Construction – In Progress:
- Mooresville 101 – Construction is complete; drops will begin soon.
- East Madison 102 – Construction is in progress.
- Dolan 105 – Sample Rd west section is waiting on make-ready completion.
- Wilbur 101 – Templin Rd is waiting on make-ready.
- Backbone – Construction of all backbone sections is complete, and the protective rings are fully operational.
*“Fiber make ready” refers to preparing a utility pole to receive the new fiber attachment.
Freedom: Backbone construction from Spencer to the Freedom ODC is complete, and the ODC is also online. The picture below outlines the different cabinet areas in Freedom. Freedom NW is actively building drops, and West will follow. Construction in the town of Freedom, located in the Freedom Central section, and in portions of Freedom NE is underway. The remaining areas of NE, South, & East will follow.
Smithville Partnership
- Wayne: Distribution construction is about 90% complete. Drops should start in Sept 2023.
- Devore: Distribution construction is about 75% complete. Drops should start in Oct/Nov 2023.
- Deckard Ridge: Make-ready work is underway, and construction should begin in August. Drops should start in Nov/Dec. 2023.
Backbone: Construction of all backbone is complete, and the protective rings are fully operational. The backbone is used to interconnect our substations, enabling smart grid technology to improve the safety and reliability of our electric distribution system. In addition, it provides fiber connectivity from our headend to your home.
